I think they are serious works of art because I’ve seen the actual paintings in the flesh at the Royal Academy of Art at the David Hockey exhibition, ‘A Bigger Picture’, and all of them are very good. There are many different types of art, whether it’s photography, collage or just painting and David Hockney is very versatile.
Just seen them and sure they are Art. Such prints I have never seen before, beautiful colours
Yes it’s art but in a new medium. They require the same skills as an artist using oil paint or watercolours in terms of composition, use of colour and much more. Plus they require mastery of some new contemporary skills. Others will follow but Hockney was first!
